Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta

Each April, the historic waters of English Harbour come alive with one of the Caribbean's most beautiful and unhurried sailing events. The Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, held at Nelson's Dockyard from April 14–19, 2027, gathers classic, vintage and spirit-of-tradition vessels ranging from 30 to 180 feet - many of them wooden schooners and ketches with decades of ocean miles behind them. Founded in 1987, the regatta offers spirited racing off Antigua's coastline alongside a relaxed programme of cream teas, gig racing, open mic nights and the celebrated Concours d'Elégance. The sight of canvas sails passing Antigua's headlands against the backdrop of Nelson's Dockyard is among the most photogenic in the Caribbean sailing calendar. Held just before Sailing Week, it is the perfect warm-up - and an event with a character entirely its own.
